Berg, Natanael
Natanael Berg (1879-1957) belonged to the generation of composers, sometimes referred to as the “tiotalists”, who were responsible for new currents in Swedish music between the years of 1910-1920. Berg’s breakthrough work, Traumgewalten, was noted for its modernism, and is joined on this recording by the vivacious symphony Pezzo Sinfonico and the cantata The Song of Songs. All together, three distinctive works that illustrate the breadth that Berg had to his compositional palette. This is No. 21 in the series Musica Sveciae Modern Classics. |
