Rosenberg, Hilding
Hilding Rosenberg (1892-1985) wrote several works for stage performances, but only a few of them have been issued on CD. Orpheus in Town (1938) includes the frequently performed Dance Suite, but here, for the first time ever, is a complete recording of the ballet music, with a duration over one hour.
The magnificent ballet pantomine Last Judgement, composed in 1929, was never performed: the music is excellent, but the plot was considered too blasphemous. The Prelude is included in this recording.
