The French horn is an instrument which fills out the sound as an additional voice. Håkan Nyqvist dares to go one step further than his predecessors. He demonstrates how the French horn can open out into a warm, broad smile. Now with this CD we are introduced to another side of Håkan's talent - that of composer and arranger. The unusual combination of instruments for which Håkan has written is an ensemble comprising three French horns, one trombone, two saxophones (doubling flutes) and rhythm section. The musicians are: Håkan Nyqvist, Anders Kjellberg, Tommy Knutsson/ French horn, Sven Berggren/ trombone, Stan Sulzmann, Tommy Koverhult/ saxophones, Torbjörn Gulz/ piano, Filip Augustsson/ double bass, Jesper Kviberg/ drums and Rafael Sida/ percussion. |
